Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their position as important members in the influential clan could help the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Fans can anticipate learning which players will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
